Disaster DIY: Adventures in Free and Open Source Software

Do you like to Do-It-Yourself (DIY)? I love the DIY-er culture, whether for home renovations or open source software.

Free and open source software is great when it works, but it can be a real disaster when it doesn't. What do you do when your computer's hardware isn't recognized? How do you find out about the options you have available? How do you pick the right tool for your particular needs? Where do you go for help and support when something goes wrong? I describe a recent (mis-)adventure of my own in this column for the Open Source Business Resource.

If you need help using free and open source software to pursue your organization's mission, let us know! It's a big part of what we do here at Freeform Solutions.
