our team

Jason Côté, President & CEO
The underlying focus of Jason's career is a belief in leveraging the benefits of technology to serve people, organizations, and networks working to better the world. It is this simple message and profound task that led Jason to co-found Freeform. Jason has also held senior level positions at Actua, CANARIE, and CanadaHelps. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering and MBA in Leadership. He can be often heard saying, "That's why it's going to work."

Julian Egelstaff, Technical Architect
Julian co-founded Freeform Solutions after holding a variety of positions in project management, documentation, and tool development at Corel, Cognos, and Actua. Julian has 10 years experience in PHP development and is a Zend Certified Engineer. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Philosophy. When not spending too much time working at Freeform, Julian spends too much time closely watching the output from the solar panel array on his roof.

Kasia Wakarecy, Web Developer
Kasia has several years of experience as a web developer and database analyst / designer. She is especially proud of her work adapting technology devices for children with disabilities. Kasia holds a postgraduate degree in Database Systems and a masters degree and undergraduate degree in Computer Science. We don't know where she finds the energy for home renovations, but be warned, Kasia has access to power tools.

Kevin Simpson, Web Developer
Kevin has long been interested in technology and social change; he holds a Master's degree in Social Work, a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Human Behaviour, and a graduate certificate in Interactive Multimedia. After many projects for a diverse series of organizations (Canadian Environmental Defence Fund, Men Against Violence) Kevin brings his unique background and experience to Freeform. His ultimate Frisbee team can beat your ultimate Frisbee team.

Jeff Côté, Web Developer
From a very young age Jeff has been interested in and surrounded by technology. His uncanny ability to speak machine has been with him most of his life. The majority of his programming knowledge is self-taught, and his formal education includes the accelerated Electronics Engineering Technologist program. His passion for computers and technology led Jeff to co-found Freeform Solution. Using his skills and knowledge to help organizations in their mission of helping others, and to benefit many of his family and friends, is very gratifying for Jeff.

Stephanie Gray, Web Developer
For over 12 years, Steph has been passionately designing and building websites addressing environmental issues, enabling youth initiatives, and assisting associations in their fight for global change. With a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies, studies in Computer Science and Physics, and previous positions in Marketing, IT, and Web Development, Steph has a unique medley of design and technology skills. Steph is always up for a challenge and is never too far from a Sudoku puzzle book.

Herb van den Dool, Web Developer
Herb has taken a circuitous route to being a Web Developer at Freeform Solutions: He has been an independent web developer, worked for the City of Toronto's cycling department, conducted research on Sustainable Trade in Costa Rica, and farther back, worked on his parents' farm. Herb holds a Certificate in Building PHP Applications from Centennial College, as well as a Masters in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. As a result of travel, country, and parents, Herb can speak Spanish, Dutch and some French.

Arvin Singla, Web Developer
Arvin seems destined to work in the public sector. Starting out as an IT administrator for a not-for-profit during his undergraduate degree in Computer Science, he realized that his talents were best served to help those helping others. Arvin discovered Drupal and other open source tools to work on freelance projects with a variety of organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Children First. Arvin considers himself a pretty good climber of rocks and hitter of golf balls when he can find the time.
